Mira Impact Strategies is a consulting practice that helps nonprofits and social enterprises build the strategy, infrastructure, and culture to scale their impact. We specialize in integrating objectives with systems and ways of working so they are coherent and aligned for the next stage of growth.

  • Strategic planning is a critical tool for guiding decisions, prioritizing resources, and aligning staff around a common goal. Organizations often spend significant time developing strategic plans without fully considering the resources, systems, and practices needed to operationalize them.

    My goal as a consultant is to integrate strategy and operations so people, systems, and resources are aligned effectively with the mission. I work with clients to design and lead long- and short-term strategic planning, including nonprofit program strategy development, and to set practical and measurable goals that leadership and teams can use to measure progress. Throughout the process, I ensure my clients understand how resources and ways of working can be best adapted to achieve their long-term vision.

  • As organizations grow, so does the complexity of budgeting and ensuring that available resources are directed where they are most needed. Without adequate budget or time, staff may feel stretched thin to deliver on annual goals.

    I help clients connect resource planning to strategy so both funds and time are spent on the highest priorities and in the most effective way possible. This includes breaking down and understanding costs and cost allocation, assessing earned income opportunities, building zero-based (bottoms-up) budgets, and doing scenario planning for adaptability.

  • One of the most important components of successful scaling is understanding how an organization’s culture, structure, and ways of working need to evolve to meet changing realities and dynamics.

    In each engagement, I seek to understand where the organization is today, what elements of its culture and ways of working leaders and teams seek to keep, and where there is opportunity to evolve. I support leadership to conduct strategic talent planning, design efficient and inclusive hiring practices, evaluate and adapt org structures, and foster engagement and leadership development in the employee lifecycle. Across my work, I help organizations embrace change while centering practices that build equitable and inclusive workplaces where teams can bring their best selves to work.

  • Effective communication and decision-making are critical components of successful scaling. Growing organizations encounter greater complexity in aligning interests, resolving tensions, and making timely, impactful decisions. Understanding how decisions will impact various stakeholders helps organizations get the best ideas on the table and avoid unexpected surprises.

    Whether I am facilitating strategy and resource planning sessions or acting as a facilitator for client meetings, I work with my clients to identify key stakeholders, design effective and inclusive meetings, surface and resolve conflicts, and clear the way for decisions and action.
